[Avid-L2] RE: Avid's biggest challenges

i would love to move to Linux os so i think i will begin to experiment with Lightworks which is going the direction that i feel comfortable with - GNU Open Source -  I haven't played with LW in years anyone have any thoughts..the Price is right.

How about WE the AvidL2 Users Crowd Fund the acquisition of AVID MC & Sym products and really open them up... How about an http://www.indiegogo.com/ fund raiser to bring Ownership of Avid Media composer into Public Domain?  It doesn;t seem to be a money maker for Avid so how much $$$$ could it cost? or
Maybe Lightworks can figure out how to acquire editing portion of AVID.

I would hate to have to cut and finish on Premiere what a bummer to the last few years of my working career.  I mean really the NLE market has been a fast dive to the bottom of corp greed control etc.

Lets make history together!  Avid L2 lets free the Avid Technology and make Steve Warner proud!

Love and pranams,
@theGuruWithin

Sarbanes - Oxley ... Isn't that the one where they shoot you if you don't blink while being asked about your mother?

It seems they are following Adobe and moving some of their products to subscription instead of upgrades"

     It's going to happen everywhere eventually. It will actually help Avid avoid the limitations imposed by Sarbanes - Oxley.
