We have discovered that EXFat can also trigger this during long access time (transcode from/to, renders, etc).

Had the same (initial) experience – via eSata, two G-Raid 4TBs were randomly going offline. It would take a full reboot to resuscitate.

 

Switched to FW800 and all is well. This on a Dell m6500 lappy, W7 SP1.
