Re: [Avid-L2] MC 7 & GoPro 3+

I run GoPro footage through Davinci Resolve.  It will respect the 48fps over 24 so you still get the slow motion in Avid, you can apply LUT or manually correct the footage prior to editing, and if you color in Davinci you can do your reframing there. If you want to finish in Avid you can use it to convert the GoPro to Quicktime files, AMA those in to keep FrameFlex as an option.

I'm trying to work out a quick workflow for GoPro footage in MC7, and I can't seem to find much info out there about the fun new tools like FrameFlex and LUTs with GoPro's resolutions like 1920x1440 48fps and color spaces like Protune Camera RAW.

Has anyone cracked a good system yet? AMA imports things fine, and it's easy to set frameflex and color defaults, but the clips barely play (8-core 2.26ghz MacPro w/ 24gb ram), and I can't find a LUT to download anywhere, so without manual color correction, things obviously look pretty flat.

Sure, I could convert things to DNxHD, but then I seem to lose Frameflex and the high frame rate - unless I'm totally doing it wrong. Am I?

Thanks in advance.
