Re: [Avid-L2] Is it I or is it P?

Who even imports video anymore into MC? AMA/transcode is multitudes faster, so this 80% faster claim is possibly irrelevant. The great thing potentially about Squeeze's DNxHD encoding is that it's able to use multiple cores (like MC transcode) but without having to tie up a MC system. I agree though, it needs to present the transcoded media in an identical fashion to what Avid MC transcode does, otherwise it's not as useful.

I got an email from Sorenson yesterday touting Squeeze 9's ability to make native Avid DNxHD files. They claim up to 80% faster than Avid import.

Does it now pass timecode?  8 didn't.
