Thank you for putting that more clearly..... Obviously there are a great many, very good FCP editors and I didn't intend a knock on them.

Avid forces you to work a certain way, which happens to make the finishing part much smoother. FCP allows you to work anyway you want which makes it easier for a beginning editor to get into, but can leave the back end processes painful.
