Funny. I finished an Avid gig a few weeks ago and it was painful. True, an inexperienced editor can screw up an FCP edit more ways til Sunday (key term is 'inexperienced'), but I found or rediscovered the rigidity of Media Composer and I felt it made me slower. Of course it could be that it's been some time since I cut on an Avid because there is hardly any left in my region. Funnier still is that after being on FCP and FCPX for a while, the Smart Tool made much more sense to me!
Seriously, for pure speed, FCPX beats them all.
