I started a thread on the Avid forums about this and no one seems to know (at least no one has responded) and no one from Avid has chimed in with more info.
So the way I read this link is that it's $500 to attend this Avid Connect thing and $150/year to be in the ACA. IF you plunk down the five bills, you get the ACA membership covered. Plus free NAB and IBC passes (and who really ever pays for NAB passes anyway!). And discounts on Avid webinars and such. Of course, as with all things Avid sells, sign up by 12/31 and it's only $300. I expect the next thing is send in your FCP or PP licenses and it's only $250.
Wow. I realize that Avid needs to broaden its revenue base, but I would rather see this effort put into development and we can just meet at the Hard Rock for a few beers.
