We've got some cannon 5D footage that was shot 23.98. It reads this way when played in QT. When the AEs link ama and set the project to NTSC 23.98 and transcode the clips to 14:1 for offline the resulting time code seems to be the 30 frame equivalent of the 24 frame code, skipping 02,07,12,17,22 and 27 ending frames. This is typical of capturing a telecined tape of 24 frame material so I figure that's what's happening. I would have thought that because the Cannon files are 23.98 that avid would keep them as true 24 frame clips. Is it because they have switched back to the NTSC 23.98 project that this is happening? Perhaps they should transcode to a dnx and the transcode that to 14:1? Is that possible?
