Re: [Avid-L2] AMA/Import Issue

I get this error all the time when AMAing clips of differing frame rates on the same card. Project at 23.98, most clips are 23.98 but some are 5994 for slo-mo. The 5994 usually generate that error message. I typically note those and pull them in through a project of the matching frame rate.

Thanks for all of the tips and replies everyone.

I resolved the issue by re-exporting the files through quicktime 7 and they went right into avid after that.
The MXF option also worked as well Steve.

Thanks everyone!

There are multiple codecs that the MOV files could be in.

What camera did they come from? Do you know? Canon? As was suggested, if you can't get the correct plugin installed, then try running it through another program and save as self contained. I have a great program from Bouke, called "MXF Creator" that would probably do it. Also, another program called BrorSoft Convertor.

Maybe the clips are corrupted. It happens me and it was a memory problem that needs to be format.

If the clips are important exist a software to fix it. I dont remember the name now.

.mov is just a wrapper/container
Open the file in QT and use movie inspector to find out more about format/codec

Subject: [Avid-L2] AMA/Import Issue

Hi All,

So I need to bring 7 .MOV files into avid but 3 of them aren't playing nice.
When I AMA the the 3 particular clips, avid gives me an error message saying that the clips couldn't be AMA'd and to check my plugins. Since these are .MOV files, I figured nothing could be wrong plugin wise… The quicktime plugin cannot be updated to my knowledge. (Correct?)

I tried a simple import of the 3 clips and what I got from it was solid green clips and the footage audio on all 3 files.

I could be missing something but I have never seen this before…

Any help is appreciated!
