So I made a QT export Same as source with the display 16x9 square pixels. They made a dvd using toast and lo and behold it playsback on the mac dvd player 16x9. I also took the dvd to our one off dvd recorder unit and played it there and at first it played center cut. I ejected the dvd and found the dvd players video setting that controls playback as center cut or letter box. Switching it to letter box and it played back letter boxed. That's all the checking I can do. There's no telling what they will have on the client end. I'm thinking if they play it on a computer like we did it should play 16x9 and if the have a dvd player it will play however they have their unit set to play 16x9.
Is there anything I can do further to assure the 16x9 flag has been set on this dvd? Empirical data suggests it is set but I'm not usually involved in making dvd screeners.
