[Avid-L2] Re: Cadence

It's in the vtr setup menu. I don't have a machine till tomorrow but if you scroll through the menu from the top you will see Edit Field around where there are other settings related to editing. IIRC you'll see things like edit Retry nearby and that I believe is in the 400's. HTH. And once again make sure you are no looking at a dub of your original master. If you are the error might have happened during dubbing although most of the time I see those a complete frame delays I wouldn't be surprised if a field delay could be induced somewhere in peripheral gear.

If this is set to F2 then your first edit will indeed come in on field 2. I've had many a dub end up a frame off when the dub house runs the signal through too much processing equipment without compensation. Especially when they try and do too many things in one pass of dubs. Make sure to check the tape right on the machine looking at the VITC time code, which is in fact Anc TC now but the display still calls it VITC. If the time code sense is off when you capture the tape that could also lead to confusion when you try and check the capture in Avid.

I checked my sequence and when I look at my 59.94 DF Time code window the sequence starts on the hour, and on the A frame. Has anyone else run into this issue? Is it a cadence issue.
