Re: [Avid-L2] MC 7 issues - followup - RAM baby!

Those are definitely my impressions of increasing RAM to 16 and adding the SSD.

Totally different user experience

So I removed the 8 GB of RAM that came with my 2011 MBP (see specs below) and installed 16 GB of Crucial RAM.

In my initial testing, all of the symptoms listed below are either vastly reduced or gone altogether:

- MC launches faster (about 38 seconds to get to the "open project" dialog)

- the export import symptoms listed below are gone.

- exiting the app takes less than 20 seconds (rather than a full minute).

- MC feels snappier

- OSX ML feels snappier.

- I can open and run Adobe Media Encoder full throttle without having to quit out of MC.

Yay.

These are first impressions. I will report back if any of these issues creep up when I am really banging on the system.

ps. David D - have you tried upping your RAM?
