I now say:
This worked for me as well. It's not obvious, but you just start the download. Once it's finished, it will ask to install. You simply quit the installer and find it as a stand-alone file in the Applications folder.
I won't be installing it anytime soon as Avid has not yet qualified it for MC or Symphony. In fact, there appear to be some issues with Mavericks and MC/Symphony. This means it will most likely be a while before there is an updated version of MC/Symphony ready for Mavericks.
