Every job I do I finish uncompressed 1920x1080 16 bit (12 bit unpacked)
in RGB.
I deliver rec 709 linear DPX files to my clients. What they do after that...
BUT the point is those files still exist for any future reworking or
repurposing on any . I finish HD even for web or SD deliveries to places
like India.
As a 20 year flame veteran I have never delivered a compressed master.
Not even 444 prores. If my clients want to make other version later
that's fine but I take no responsibility for H264 colour shifts,
compression artifacts or anything other than my uncompressed deliverable
master with guaranteed full aperture integrity. That's just how I work.
