The problem is ergonomics, if you're trying to be keyboard centric and fast. At least it is for me. I do lots of things with one hand on Apple that I have to do with two hands on PC. Perhaps it depends on your market, offline v.s. online, etc. The fact is that in my market, no matter how fast I get, I can never edit fast enough. There's always more work pushing me to speed up. So yes, my tools matter, because every damn second counts. The fact that Apple allows me to use my opposable thumb also makes it easier on my body, and that's important too, since I'm going to have to work until the moment I fall over dead.

I've honestly never understood why some editors have this kind of preference as to platform. Who cares if you press Ctrl +C or Cmd +C? The result's the same either way. I could understand if one platform was faster, or more stable, but fashion? Oh please - it's a tool. Since Avid EOL'd their only decent finishing tool I'm considering moving to AD, and all their serious products run on Linux. Now I know absolutely zilch about Linux but there again I couldn't care less. All I want to know is what button I press to achieve a certain function. I'm completely platform agnostic when it comes to my tool of choice and it has always baffled me when I see editors who aren't. What's the problem that I'm missing?
