Our entire company runs Media Composer 7 (and Fusion) on Asus games level laptops. GPU is very important to our software and this system runs a great Mobile GPU from Nvidia.
Serious horsepower laptop at not such a serious price. BTW - we have recommended this to numerous editors and have never heard a single complaint.
Here is the model we own, but there are newer models out there from Asus as well
cheers

What's your price range? On Thu, Oct 24, 2013 at 5:51 AM, Mark Santora <mrsantora@gmail.com> wrote:
Hey all.
I'm in the market for a new lappy and was wondering what people's
experiences were running MC on a PC laptop with an Intel Chip but AMD
Graphics inside. (_PLEASE_ no "get a mac" responses. It's not an
option) I know Nvidia is the requirement, but I also know people run
AMD. Frankly, I'd rather run Nvidia, but there seem to be more option
out there in my price range that use AMD for the graphics end of things.
The fact of the matter is that the system is not going to be used for
Avid very much if at all. It's primarily for a other work programs but
a back up in case I need it or have to edit away from my Workstation.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Mark
