None of which you are going to see with a new apple laptop. :-(
I don't know how well MC7 runs on the low end MBPs with Intel graphics, but if you price out the 15" with Nvidia card and decent RAM, etc. you'll find yourself close to the price of the incredible new MacPro @ $3000.

Compared to a premium-priced non-upgradable MBP, the PC laptops look pretty compelling again.
Not that I want to use one. But the media composer application doesn't care how thin your bezel is, or if you have an elegant UI. It wants graphic power.

There are ways of getting it at lower price:-order with minimal HDD and RAM, upgrade with aftermarket parts-watch for their frequent sales, ecoupons, etc.-see if you can get Barnes&Noble or employee/family&friends extra discountshave fun,BG

Hey all.
I'm in the market for a new lappy and was wondering what people's
experiences were running MC on a PC laptop with an Intel Chip but AMD
Graphics inside. (_PLEASE_ no "get a mac" responses. It's not an
option) I know Nvidia is the requirement, but I also know people run
AMD. Frankly, I'd rather run Nvidia, but there seem to be more option
out there in my price range that use AMD for the graphics end of things.
The fact of the matter is that the system is not going to be used for
Avid very much if at all. It's primarily for a other work programs but
a back up in case I need it or have to edit away from my Workstation.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Mark
