[Avid-L2] [Semi-OT] Resolve-Avid roundtrip crazyness

Hi!

I have serios problem with the resolve roundtrip. After I send back the AAF to symphony it doesn't relink.

We AMA EX3 clips and transcode them to DNxHD 85 onto ISIS. The clips renamed after scene/shot/take. Once an episode edited I take it and commit multicam, export AAF with transcode to DNxHD 120 onto local drive (resolve doesn't support 85 and ISIS). In resolve import/grade/deliver using avid roundtrip settings and export AAF. Then in symphony import the resolve AAF and everything is offline. The imported clips named after the scene/shot/take not the rendered file...

The relink doesn't work (I tried it every way). Resolve gets the original EX3 filename, but avid tries to relink using the renamed 'name' field as I noticed. If I give a tape name for a clip, it works, but for ~400 clips it's out of question.

I found a solution: after the first round, export a new AAF from avid (this time just link media). Import to resolve, set the timeline use remote grades, and make a new export. Import it to symphony and voilá, the timeline and the masterclips linked to the graded material. It worked for a couple of episodes.

BUT... I have an episode now where the media links to the original (ungraded) footage even if they offline! It blew my mind. Any idea?

My specs are: Z800, Quadro 3800, Symphony 6.5.2.1, Resolve 10b1

Cheers,
Joe
