No it's limiting illegal levels just like it does over the main program but it's not adjusting levels. If you actually do a color correction in symphony on a matte key it only effects the foreground whether you step in or not. In media composer it's different and it would be a color effect effecting all the video like you are saying. For media composer you have to step in. That's why auto nesting the title with a limit is the quick and dirty, although not too dirty for my simple white titles, fix.
