[Avid-L2] Re: Symphony 6.0.4 with Decklink 4K Ext. can't find coincidence point on capture?

Awesome tip. I owe you an OKI Dog. I just checked my mc 5.5.3 and it does not have that setting in deck preferences but my sndx 6.5.3 does have it. I will try that tomorrow. Hopefully that will resolve the capture issue. It sure has the correct name for the job. I realize now I've virtually never dealt with tape on any V. 6 and above system. I've only used V.6 for it's Red Epic ama functionality so I have never seen that check box before. Learn something new everyday, if not several times a day.

Now for bonus Techy points can someone explain what the difference in RS-422 protocol is between Sony and Panasonic that lets the Panny decks seemingly avoid this error? I have always thought the serial control protocol was basically standard and the the difference between deck protocols had to do with edit timing differences between various deck. The transport controls seem to work between panny and sony decks so some things are the same. With the Blackmagic Express software there is no deck type setting it just says vtr ok and captures frame accurately no muss no fuss.
