Not really as fool proof as you might think. In my world, most of the
files being linked to are on a networked drive. Lots of people have
access. All anyone has to do is innocently bump into the file and it is
at risk of losing its very fragile link. Rendering helps in that it
creates a more or less real bit of media but it's not as robust a
solution as I would need in my work environment. --J.B.
