Hi Scott,
I saw that at the NY Film Festival last year and I totally agree the graphics(and the movie)
were incredible. The director was present and talked about the graphics after the movie.
I didn't get all the details but essentially they were all done in a true 3D compositing program.
They used masking to go behind and through objects(virtually). It's probably to complex
and costly for most shows but points the way to a whole new way to treat stills.

There was an incredible documentary last year called The Gatekeepers. They
took still photos and made it look like live footage with camera shake and
movement in Z space. Now, I'm not talking about simply animating the still,
but something way more cool and complex. Definitely worth a look to
generate some ideas. Unfortunately, I believe the stock footage in the
movie was 4x3 stretched (not blown up) to fit a 16x9 box, which I found
very distracting.
Best,
Scott
Hi Avid-L,
I'm producing a promotional
video for a golf course country club. I shot the footage
and have to incorporate aerial stills into the edit. Any suggestions
on adding or how to create a helicopter-esque feel to the still shots?
Has anybody ever tried this? They can't afford to put me in the air to shoot
aerials.
Sincerely,
Tom McDonnell
