Interesting - I've recently started file-based delivery to a broadcast
client in Australia. We're sending 5x23min programs as XDCAM HD50 MXF every
week at the moment. It's very easy from MC, which is pleasing. File sizes
are manageable at about 10GB per episode.
There's no sign of an industry standard here yet, but most people I've
spoken to seem comfortable with XDHD50 but we're not even thinking about
metadata and whatever else. Just a video file in place of a tape really.
