[Avid-L2] Is AAF a good way to Archive?

I am finishing up a series of 15 short videos all sharing the same media. Client wanted each video as a separate project so I just shared bins and among projects and even created a generic project as a central bin location. When I finish a project I often consolidate and archive that media, dumping the rest. Client wants me to deliver AAF files with embedded media along with QT maters. I'm wondering is the AAFs are a good way to archive and I just dump everything once I export these?

thanks
