Yes. You are cutting a long sequence with h.264 footage via AMA. It
doesn't work, despite what marketing might have you believe.
You might get it to "sort of" work with short sequences.

Perhaps when Avid introduces the new video engine in the next major
release, things will improve. Premiere Pro and FCPX have figured out how
to get decent performance with camera native footage, but Avid is not there
yet...at least with h.264.
