More weirdness. Quit for supper, reopened project to do some exports. Some of the sync audio in one sequence has decided to unlink from the Avid mediafiles and relink to the AMA clips. I'd transcoded a lot of footage and forced the audio to go with the video by ticking 'Convert Audio Sample Rate'. This has always worked for me and these clips were good as gold until just now. More relinking tomorrow. I'm wondering if the new MC7 AMA features are robust? As the Media Tool now shows Avid media and AMA linked media, I'd like an extra checkbox or two - * Avid Media Only and * AMA linked media only. It freaked me out when all this unexpected stuff showed the first time I opened the Media Tool in MC7. Any other MC7 experiences out there?

These are no longer ama linked clips but they were consolidated from ama linked clips with a tape name being added. In my case if I go to my decompose bin where the consolidated clips live I can see those clips are now pointing back to the media drive of the old show. If I relink all the master clips back to my current media drive they come back on line. If they were still ama linked clips I'd probably have your headache. My assumption is that opening the old sequence which had the same clips over rides current mob data or some such thing. Seems Avid updates to the last bin opening like when clips are offline and just opening the decompose bin magically brings them back on line. I know it's not magic but sometimes it feels that way and all too ofter it's like black magic,
pun intended.

At this point (without doing anything other than simply opening the bin), all the AMA linked clips in the sequence in the Timeline suddenly go offline! I open the bin where they are stored and they are all offline there, too (I laboriously relinked them hours back and have been working with them).
