Triple check. Most sound houses are using AAF's daily, but still refer to them as OMF's, as they have grown accustomed to.
Pro Tools 7.5 and up definitely open MC AAF's. AAF's allow embedding. They're basically a 21st century version of OMF.
Other than that, if you switch your project to SD, you would still get OMF export options, if I'm not mistaken.
