I use MPEG Streamclip for converting Go Pro files; they still take a long time to convert, but you can set in and out points on a clip if you only need a portion. Or you can set up a batch list and let it run in the background/downtime/overnight.

Subject: [Avid-L2] faster Go Pro injest
Go Pro. Hate them! Long, big clips that won't AMA. Ties up system during import and in the end I use a few seconds of one or two clips at best. Is there a faster way to ingest? Even if that means converting in another software and then AMA. Anyone have a good system?
thanks
