[Avid-L2] Scary AMA unlink

Very weird thing just happened. Bear with me.

1) Bring project from one Mac to another. Avid mediafiles and a bunch of AMA linked QuickTimes on a 4TB G-Raid.

2)  Duplicate a sequence into a new bin, leaving the old version in 'Old Edits' bin, which I close.

3) Use 'Relink to AMA files' to get the QuickTimes back on line (sometimes it works). Work for several hours on latest version. My current sequence is sitting in the Timeline and everything is on line.

4) Realise I need to check something from the 'Old Edits' bin so I open it. At this point (without doing anything other than simply opening the bin), all the AMA linked clips in the sequence in the Timeline suddenly go offline! I open the bin where they are stored and they are all offline there, too (I laboriously relinked them hours back and have been working with them).

WTF? as they say! Anyone seen such behaviour?

MC 7. Mac OS 10.8.4.
