So it appears it is the crossing over midnight issue that is causing the linking issue. According to the edl list for the aaf imported timeline the problem source clip that had a time code on the source clip 00;02;02;04 in Avid became a in point of 24;02;02;04 in the Resolve timeline. Finding the clip in the media pool and updating the clips attributes in the time code adding 24 hours instead of 00 for the first two hours digits in the time code allowed a force reconform to the selected clip to populate the timeline in Resolve with the correct clip frame accurately.
I guess this is a different way to get the 24 hour time code that had been mentioned by Scott using an EDL and modifying the time code in the EDL source code to reflect 24 hours instead of 00 hours. Now I'm curious what's going on under the hood when a clip goes past midnight in Avid. Does the actual time code go to 24 hours but a flag of some sort make it read out as 00 hours? This would be kind of like the drop/non drop flag that makes a time code reader display drop frame time code even though the actual time code numbers are non drop the flag makes the readers interpret the non drop numbers and convert to a drop frame equivalent in the display. That's my understand of drop/non drop code reading. Please correct me if I have that part wrong.

I checked with the AE this morning and one probable difference in these clips it that the time code of the original master clip probably crossed midnight. This issue has created problems for us even in just the Avid world. I did notice that when I checked the clip attributes time code tab if I tapped on the time code window I think it would toggle between adding a 24 hour at the beginning of the time code and reverting to "00" at the start of the code. Given the source time codes for these problem clips are 00:02:02:03 and the other clip is 00:04:10:13 I do suspect the clips originally crossed over midnight.

The Avid rule is to actually look at the "Source" icon in "Set Bin Display..." this will clear that issue up for you. The "Source" icon is the exact name for what gets used. This works for the "Tape" column and for the "SourceFile" column too.

In some cases the timeline isn't linked but I can see the clips in the media pool. Color Bars for example don't link to the timeline. I would expect some issues with imports like color bars but I'm also getting issues with some but not all Pelco cameras. There is an error about the clips not linking because of the time code extent or something like that. The clips do end up in the media pool and the timecode on these clips are correct but they don't link. I've checked the Avid side and the clips do have tape names added to them. Could there be a difference if the tape names were added during the online uprezz as opposed to having originally being added when the offline media was created? Kinda like how the metadata doesn't get into the .mxf file if it isn't there when the .mxf is
