I'm creating an AAF that links to the original .mxf files in the avid mediafiles folder. The tape name appears correct in Resolve and Avid and with the source icon. I checked with the AE this morning and one probable difference in these clips it that the time code of the original master clip probably crossed midnight. This issue has created problems for us even in just the Avid world. I did notice that when I checked the clip attributes time code tab if I tapped on the time code window I think it would toggle between adding a 24 hour at the beginning of the time code and reverting to "00" at the start of the code. Given the source time codes for these problem clips are 00:02:02:03 and the other clip is 00:04:10:13 I do suspect the clips originally crossed over midnight.
Also in my novice state on the Resolve how can I find the actual source time code of clips that are not linking? I tried right clicking to find clip in media pool but because they are not linked it doesn't load the clip in the source side monitor.t

The Avid rule is to actually look at the "Source" icon in "Set Bin Display..." this will clear that issue up for you. The "Source" icon is the exact name for what gets used. This works for the "Tape" column and for the "SourceFile" column too.
