[Avid-L2] Editing on the Run?

I am so glad this Forum exists, worldwide.

I need to continue editing my feature film while roving about England, Scotland and France, and would love to have a reasonably good 20" HDMI, 1080x1920 monitor for playback that can travel well-enough. Any recommendations?

My system: MacBook Pro 17" (18 months old), 8TB G-Drive (Thunderbolt). A pair of Bose speakers with a Dragonfly DA converter. MC6.5.2, may upgrade to 7 before departing San Francisco on July 19. Editing mainly with AMA linked ProRes footage.

My guess is to run an HDMI monitor off the end of the G-Drive's Thunderbolt port, using Black Magic's UltraStudio Mini Monitor Playback Device.

Any seasoned advice on packaging all this and going through customs? I was thinking of getting a Pelican case and getting a TSA lock.

Thanks! Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Roberto
