[Avid-L2] Re: QT video levels?

 

Do not remap the levels on import, MC is alone in allowing destructive remapping on import, (and this "feature" should be removed.) If you want to modify levels, do it with the 12 bit colour corrector, where, as Crispin says, you can see if it necessary.
Also do not change codecs on import, this will chuck away 2 bits of 10 bit material. Remapping AND truncating the bit depth is a sure way to get banding.
