I agree that the PVM-2541A looked good and offers improved off-axis performance.
However, I was pleasantly surprised with the Flanders 10-bit Cinema panels -- more specifically the 24" CM240 and the 32" CM320TD.
At the booth, they (Flanders) were claiming 12-18 month stability between calibrations (based on full-time use). And they were also strongly advising sending the panel back to Flanders when calibration was required -- due to the sensitivity of their rather expensive Minolta probe.
I was told a while back by a Sony product manager that the PVM-2541 would likely require more frequent "calibration". I curious to know what owners of that panel are experiencing in real world use.

They improved the panel design and they mounted an older panel and a newer panel together so you could spin them together and compare the saturation change. The Flanders monitors looked good too and have a very comprehensive feature set but for my money the Sony OLED's are the best ticket in town. In fact while visiting the SpectraCal booth I asked one of the engineers what he thought of the OLED panels given I had heard from some that the detail in the dark areas is lacking, not crushed but lacking detail, and he said the OLED monitors were the best performing monitors he'd ever tested right out of the box. I know video monitors are a lot like speakers and everyone has their favorite but that was a reassuring bit of information for me. Also when checking out the probes that auto white balance the PVM OLEDs the Sony engineer said that the monitors are pretty stable and he didn't think I'd really have to adjust the monitor for the first 3 to 4 years. That came from the Sony engineer but I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me aluminum siding after all the Sony setup software is free.
