I have purchased the upgrade and aborted before the install. I ran Lion Diskmaker 2 10.8 and it took over an hour to create a USB bootable drive. After all that it will boot but when I try to install 10.8.3 onto my cloned 10.6.8 partition it balks 5 ish minutes in saying it can't download the necessary components. Also every time I plug in the usb drive it says it can't be repaired but I can open it and pull files off. I'm now trying the manual method of showing package contents and dragging the InstallESD.dmg into disk utility and restoring it to the USB drive. I did notice the first boot drive created by Lion Diskmaker 2 didn't seem to have the "SharedSupport" folder that is necessary for the manual method. I did find it on the copy that the App store created in the applications folder. It takes aprrox. an hour and 15 minutes to create this disk image copy. I hope this works. Something is funky in Denmark and I don't want to wait for another 4 hour plus download from the App store. All this to eliminate a 5 cent DVD so Apple can force everyone away from recordable media. Bah Humbug.
