You don't need to keep old computers running
We can now create virtual machines and emulate hardware.
Also I think properly stored LTO tape is expected to gave at least a 30
year shelf life.
And yes there are folks archiving to film still. And you will always be
able to reconstruct the technology (a projector) even a thousand years
in the future!
