[Avid-L2] Re: My PC spazzed out big time?

Yeah I should have seen it coming when I was typing out punch cards and flipping front panel switches on the DEC 11/10 smart terminals in programming classes for Fortran back in the late 70's at Berkeley. These computer devices have on purpose, TO MESS WITH JOHN MOORE!!! I'll never forget my first infinite loop on the batch system IBM 30-30 double precision number cruncher that took up most of the floor of the building. I think the issues I run into are the kind of things a staff engineer would resolve or not let happen at all but many production companies have ad hoc editing setups that have never seen a day of maintenance and weren't even set up properly in the first place. Not to mention some of the kludged systems I see from rental houses. I find it insulting to have an Avid rental bay that comes with a standard, not Avid symboled, keyboard. Sure we all kinda no the buttons but why make people think about the keyboard? I'm sure somewhere in the past I really pissed off both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates because there must be some magic break point traps or easter eggs reserved for whenever I log onto any of their gear. ;-) I think a lot of my current buggy issues are because they are still on SNDX 6.0.1. I can't really upgrade this system without the normal staff editor being here, that would be wrong. I'd like to call the maintenance department but oh wait, what maintenance department? ;-(
