I had the same thing with the titles two weeks ago on my MAC Symphony after a crash. It also locked four of ten tracks on my timeline and wouldn't let me unlock them. And all the source tracks were locked too.
Big panic attack because of course we had only a few hours to deliver a cut of the movie. I tried duplicating the sequins, the project, cutting the old sequence into a new timeline. Restoring my settings to an older copy etc.
Finally I deleted the MC state and the angels sang. It's been fine since.

The other issue I had was when I went to make a new title from the pull down menu the title tool is all white. If I turn the V button off the screen is black. I tried to select all and delete but it didn't seem to work. The system did properly recreate existing titles and let me open them and type over them but no way to start a title from scratch. I'll try to investigate further tomorrow. Is this a known bug I just didn't register because it hadn't happened to me in my predominantly Mac land of Avid? If I didn't know better I'd say the system was whacked on Crack and felt like Breaking Bad at my expense.
