I am not sure regarding laptops, but I found that on the tower the main issue is the compatibility of the Nvidia drivers.
Resolve requires newer version from the one Avid uses.
Resolve will not run with out that version. if you use the Resolve driver on the Avid side you will get a warning regarding performance, however the avid application is working fine.
