Well after updating to 10.6.8 I was able to boot on the MacPro so all is working as expected.

I figured I'd just stick in my 10.6.3 OS DVD and install 10.6.3 to one of the new empty partitions but all I get is the apple logo grey screen but no swirling sproket thingy. I found this on the internet:

I pulled the drive and mounted it on my MBP 10.6.8 laptop and installed 10.6.3 on one of the new partitions. I put that back in the macpro but I still get the Apple logo grey screen and nothing else. I brought the drive back to the MBP pro and am in the process of updating it to 10.6.8 on it and then trying it back in the MacPro. At my main client they got some new 12 cores a few months back and installed 10.6.8 on them some how. I do recall from past experience there seemed to be some big under the hood changes when going from 10.6.3 to 10.6.8 when I was setting up some Avid startup drives. Anybody got any suggestions. I'm hoping once I upgrade the drive to 10.6.8 it will boot on the macpro. My ultimate plan is to get a 10.6.8 startup drive working and then carbon copy clone it and upgrade to 10.7.4 etc.... This way I can not burn up additional
