[Avid-L2] Re: 2:30AM and a 2GB limit error on AAF Export Really?

Okay so that is the missing link. Hey Avid if you are going to go to the trouble of giving me an error prompt about a 2GB limit why not add the solution in the error prompt. Not everyone will be fortunate enough to get advice from Ross. Maybe even better would be to make the default set to Use Edit Protocol checked then most people would never have to think about this. What reason would one for not checking this box? What workflows would be effected negatively by using edit protocol?

You have to tick "Use Edit Protocol" go over the 2GB limit.

Okay I don't export a lot of aafs and mostly I've done OMF 2.0
embedded in the past. Tonight on SNDX 5.5.3 mac os 10.6.8 Exporting
12 tracks from a 1 hour show 59.94I 1080 project DNX 220X I get the
old 2GB limit error. WTF I'm exporting an aaf with embedded media. I
repeat WTF? I thought we were past all this BS especially with aafs. I
know the AEs routinely give the ProTools guy aafs well over 2GB. What
am I forgetting or missing. I tried to export to the protools room
over ethernet and got the error and then exporting to my desktop I got
the error. I broke it down into track pairs and that worked but WTF?
I'm working hard to regain my Bone Head status at the second gig.
