We're all Mac, so I can't tell you how these work with the HP, but I'm guessing your results will be similar.
We've had great success with the I/O Express - they don't like 44.1 audio, but that's about it. We did have some problems with mismatched drivers and open I/O software- so expect to have your patience tried when you're first setting up the machine.
I also have one Kona 3, and one BMD Decklink. Both have been fine, I prefer the K3 for no good reason other than I like AJA's control application better, but for our uses it offers no advantage over the IO Express. We have not seen the problems Terry's mentioned with the K3- but I'm not the main user of that particular machine, so I can't really comment further.
Honestly, you can even run Media Composer with the decklink SDI. Of course, that makes audio monitoring a little difficult, but... (we use it for picture in our protools room, and have pressed it into use as a capture station a time or two.)
I'd try the IO Express and just sell it off on ebay if you don't like it.
