Bingo! I had just found the setting in Set Source Settings. I did find a "Field Order" column/heading in the list of choices. The field order had been set to default. As you say right clicking on the clip and Set Source Settings allows you to define the field order. Even Lower field first worked as I would have expected. Thanks for the help everybody.
