Jeff there is a patch for that. I had the same problem when I was testing MP for 64 bit on my MBP. Bill F sent me a patch version but I haven't had a chance to try it. This was for the 64 bit version which has to be on lion. I don't know how being PC effects this but that was exactly what I had happen on my MBP. Stills were on an internal drive but I had to put them on the desktop to get the image into the Avid timeline. In fact I could see the image while in the MP interface it was only after saving the effect that I got the could not find image message or some such thing while in the avid timeline. I guess the issue is not Mac only.
