FWIW - I have been testing a similar idea with the BMD HyperDeck Shuttle. It supports 10-bit uncompressed and Avid DNxHD at this time. A 90-min. stereo feature will fit on the 240GB SSD if you use the Avid DNxHD codec. You can encode on your computer and copy to the drive and it will play via HMDI or SDI.
A few touchy issues, though. Interlaced and progressive only, no PsF. Seems to have some issues with "big endian" versus "little endian" audio files. One plays back sound and the other doesn't. Safer to do a real-time capture over SDI, unless you have the time to do a little R&D to figure out what works.
On the Mini, wouldn't you have issues with the formatting of the CF cards, related to the length of a feature (and file size)? Not a problem with the full KiPro, since it uses Mac-formatted drives. The Sound Devices PIX 240 would be another good option, though way more expensive than the HyperDeck Shuttle.
