[Avid-L2] Re: clips are importing in fast motion

 

This happens when imported .movs have a tape name added to them and then Avid decomposes them like a tape source. As Terry mentioned there is a sort of fit to fill thing that then happens. If you had a 2 minute movie that you cut a 2 second shot from and it gets a tape name and is then decomposed Avid tries to fit the entire 2 minute clip into the 2 seconds you cut in, including handles just to make it interesting. In these cases I usually find the time code on the clips will be accurate to the time code of the clip reimported in it's entirety. Not great but at least it helps in over cutting.
