I've been told the the unity we have is probably a medianet model and it does in fact have a 20 seat limit for ethernet clients. I was also told that some people have used the fibre connection to connect an extra port server to obtain additional seats. This is a hack so I'm told and not a qualified Avid system. Anybody have any experience expanding the number of seats on a medianet. Our old system had 28 seats and now we are under a load greater than 20 seats.

We thought the unit would replace our old one with the se]ame 28 seat capacity. Apparently the dongle is only good for 20 seats. We have been told this unit can not support more than 20 seats. Hoping this is not true and it's just a matter of a dongle update. The file versions of monitor.exe etc... are 5.1.3 something. Is this enough info to find out if it has a 20 seat max? Never spent much time with unitys so I'm asking novice questions here but no engineering support at the plant today. TIA
