Re: [Avid-L2] Lightworks is released

Been trying to learn how to use it. The basic editing paradigm is the
same: Set in, Set out, Insert/Overwrite. Trimming seems similar, but it'd
definitely feel strange for an Avid editor. Still have to explore all of
that.

But handling media took a long time for me to figure out. Folders are
called Racks, bins are the same. But there's no window that lists all of
your Racks/bins. You have to search for them. So once you close a bin (as
long as it's a permanent bin), the only way to open it back up again is to
search for the bin. If you can't remember the name of the bin, you'd leave
the search field blank, and it'll give you a list of all of your bins that
are in the project. It's weird and I can't really see this benefiting any
production that uses TONS of media.

They weren't lying when they said that the interface is incredibly fast.
It is much faster than any other NLE I've used. Everything happens
instantly.

Still trying to learn all of the intricacies of the program, but it's
looking pretty interesting. It's in development for Mac and Linux at the
moment.
