Our IT department is trying to quickly spec out a pair of workstations to
take advantage of the Symphony crossgrade promotion. Here's the
correspondence with Avid, and we were looking for second (and third and
fourth) opinions as to whether we need to spring for new hardware.

If you are requesting for a quotation of workstation that will work with
Symphony 6, I believe I already showed it to you, but let me give it again.
Here is the link.

As mentioned previously, we have qualified workstations and if you have
other workstation that you'd like to work with Symphony, you can always use
the 30 day trial of the software.

AVID

I have several more questions:
1. Could I use a Nvidia Quadro 2000 graphics card with the Dell Optiplex
990 workstation listed below for the AVID Symphony 6 software?
2. We have another computer laptop that we would like to consider for Avid
Symphony 6 workstation, will these specs qualify:
Dell Precision M4500, Intel Core i7-740QM 1.73 GHz 6MB, 8.0GB RAM, Nvidia
Quadro FX 1800M, 256GB Solid State hard drive

I showed your PC specs and aside from the video card which the
recommendation was to use nVIDIA Quadro, both system should be fine. For
the PCI slots, since this workstations are not tested we dont have any
specific requirements to give.
Best regards,
AVID
