Right. If the media is still present and valid, recoverability of the masterclip is a walk in a MediaTool park. To me such media is simply AWOL, not really tragically orphaned.
I have seen media files that for some reason lost not only their masterclips but also their project association, which made it harder first to find them in the MediaTool and, second, to put them back in a project. They just wouldn't stick to the new project.
Now that in my mind would constitute an orphan media file.
